Fetch indoors. Getting default sit and look. Released with "ok" and "go get it".
Nice calm ride to Petsmart - sat nicely all the way. Gave him treats (kibble) for sitting nicely.
Short breakfast walk around petsmart. As we rounded the back corner there was a dog and its human walking right up to us. Temba got excited and barked, lunged. I held him back by the leash & harness, and led him away. Gave him kibble treats, which he promptly swallowed.
Hesitant walk to main door. Hesitant walk to counter, even when taking the aisles. Gave him treats (tapioca tuna) for being good.
Retrieved him around 6 PM.
Nice calm ride on the way home. Clicked and treated him with tuna tapioca treats for sitting nicely.
Played fetch outside. He seemed a little overexcited and barked/whined a lot if I took my time throwing the ball.
Pee/poop.
Downtime while I did some work.
Left for a couple hours from around 11 PM to midnight. I had forgotten to put the trash away so he had cut into the trash and spread it all over the place. He's laying on the bed with his years flat but I couldn't tell if he was having a fearful reaction to my reaction. I kept calm anyway and put away the trash.
Left again from about 5 AM to 8 AM . give him his morning meds before leaving. Went outside to play fetch and pee/poop as soon as I got back home.
Nap time for about 1 hour.
Ok ride to VCA.
VCA appointment 11am with Dr Seymour. Put muzzle on before she entered. Waited about 15 min with muzzle on, so he was getting a little frustrated with not being able to get the ball. Removed muzzle for most of appointment. He was ball focused for most of the appointment, but behaved mostly nicely. Went down with "platz" on her cue, which was good to see. Started getting excited at the end of the appt, and started jumping up to lick her face, but got off her when she looked away with hands up. Left the facility with harness on and no major issues. No fee for this follow up visit.
Drive to University Lake park for short fetch session. A few dogs in the park. He greeted a couple of them. Man on fat tire bike approached our position, but I saw him first so I grabbed Temba by the harness until he passed. Temba didn't seem too concerned by the biker. Left for home shortly after that. Downtime while I made and ate lunch. I gave him a marrow bone but he pretty much ignored it other than trying to guard it when I came too close. I just ignored him for it.
After I finished eating, he seemed to want to go outside and was holding his marrow bone. I let him out and he disappeared underneath the porch for a little while. It turns out he had dropped his bone into a dust filled crevice. I cleaned it off and let him inside. Gave him the now clean marrow bone which he's chewing.
Took a long nap then played lazy fetch indoors for a little bit. Fetch outside. Worked on platz, improving. Pee/poop.
Downtime while I made dinner.
Went through relaxation protocol day one. Successfully stayed down on the mat without any issues. I think the dog barking is part of the recording.
Dinner in Toppl then gave him the rest of his marrow bone.
He did an interesting thing after dinner. He went through the pink trinkets bucket I guess looking for something to chew on. He brought out a couple of the marrow bones empty marrow bones and went over to the mat as if to chew on them but went back to the bucket. He actually grabbed his muzzle and brought it over to the mat as well. He is definitely not afraid of the muzzle.
Excellent!
Downtime while I had dinner.
