Postcall; got up around 9 AM and we went for a potty walk, 25 minutes on the OMalley /Lake Otis loop. I forgot to get in this morning medication so he might've been a little bit more on edge when the cars went by. I clicked and treated the entire walk and gave him extra as the cars were going by. He still pulls forward, but he comes back to me more readily when I give tension on his leash or say "let's go".
We did some muzzle training when we got home. it was only about five minutes but he did really well. Still working on the "muzzle" cue, but he willingly put his nose in the muzzle.
Played inside intermittently for most of the day. I went out for groceries mid afternoon. Fed him dinner via Starmark ball. Afterwards we went out to the yard and played fetch. Attached his harness to work on his "leave it" with toys. He seems to be improving. I had a couple of failures before I attached the harness, and he really broke his stay a few times on the harness. I would say he is about 50-60% successful with "leave it" when I throw or kick the ball full force. He is about 70-80% with a gentle toss. I count as successes when he hesitates (moves to chase the ball but catches himself and stays put).
Went out for a short potty walk afterwards. I asked for a sit before we left, and he remained sitting at the open door until I released him. Mid-walk, he semi-lunged at a passing car, but I think I was able to redirect him.
