Long hike Sunday - jewel lake

Woke, went for walk before breakfast/play. There was maybe 30 minutes between medication and outing.
As soon as we exited there was a human walking her dog right in front of the driveway. Of course he became agitated and began lunging and barking at them as they walked on by. I fumbled with my treat bag to try to get him some treats but he had gotten most of his barking out of the way by the time he got the treats. He was getting too excited walking in the same direction even though they were out of sight so we took the loop in the other direction instead. We didn't encounter any other mammals on the way.
Along the OMalley slope he was really distracted by some scent in fresh tracks so he was continuously pulling ahead of me. I put away the treats and brought out his ball instead. He was happy to take it and was slightly calmer but still continued to pull ahead.
Played fetch in the yard at home before breakfast with Starmark ball

Early afternoon we went to Jewel Lake park for outdoor fun. Played fetch while hiking along the path about 1 hour. upon return to the parking lot, he spotted a dog and rushed ahead out of sight. I had to run to catch up to him. Luckily there were no negative incidents or consequences and everybody played happily.
Had some downtime at home. Played fetch outside for little while, then trained "platz" for a few minutes before dinner.
Went for a walk. Treats for most of the walk. He seems to be getting better at keeping his attention on me for longer durations. At the end of the walk as we were walking up towards the house, there was a kid running in the street and he lunged to greet him. The kid kept running back up and down the street so there was no way to avoid him. I had to hold Temba by the harness as we walked past the kid.
